Online SHA1 hash generator, is a way to generate encryption. To use, just copy or type the text and click on the button to generate the SHA1.
SHA-1 is a cryptographic hash function developed by the National Security Agency and published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology as a US Federal Information Processing Standard. Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA) stands for Secure Hash Algorithm. The three SHA algorithms are labeled SHA-0, SHA-1, and SHA-2 and are organized differently. SHA-1 is extremely similar to SHA-0, however it fixes a flaw in the original SHA hash specification that led to serious failures. Many applications did not use the SHA-0 algorithm. The SHA-2 hash algorithm, on the other hand, differs drastically from the SHA-1 hash function. The most widely used SHA hash algorithm is SHA-1, which is used in a variety of applications and security protocols.
In 2005, security weaknesses were discovered in SHA-1, including a mathematical vulnerability indicating that a stronger hash function would be preferable. While no successful attacks on SHA-2 variations have been reported, they are algorithmically comparable to SHA-1, so efforts are being made to produce better alternatives. A new hash standard, SHA-3, is currently being developed, and a NIST hash function competition is expected to conclude in 2012 with the selection of a winning function.
